I"m looking for a portable scanner (that is, which fits in a small bag).? There
is a class of scanners called `orbital' or `planetary' scanners, which are
basically a digital camera mounted a pedestal. You place the document on a flat
tray and take a photo (scan). There are almost no moving parts (as opposed to
drum scanners) and it's possible to scan books (no need to have loose pages).
Has anyone had experience with such scanners and can recommend a portable
model, ideally compatible with SANE?.
