I am using sane-backends-1.0.20 with xsane-0.996 on ubuntu 9.04 2.6.28-18-generic.
I have a Epson Perfection V700 PHOTO (a.k.a. GT-X900). I can make scans with this setup, but I think the software is limiting the scan size of this scanner. Under "transparency unit" of xsane the maximum geometry is 5.9 x 9.7 in, where it ought to be 8 x 10 in. Under the XP bundled software (FineReader 6.0 Sprint), I can get 8x10 in transparency scans (full contact sheets) from this scanner. Under "flatbed" of xsane the geometry is 8.5 in x 11.7 in, which is correct. How do I look into how to increase the scan area under "transparency?" I obtained this unit primarily to make contact sheets of B&W negatives, which require an 8x10 scan area. Thank you in advance. -rei
