Attached is the patch against SANE backends' HEAD at 'ccf58bf516d670ec0c7d4f17b884b21d6eaa789', which will hopefully fix HP4500 scanner support. I didn't commit the changes yet - want to get a confirmation without polluting GIT repository. The patch contains recent changes regarding ADF legal paper fix as well. Thanks all who patiently sent all requested information (logs, snoops etc) and beg your pardon for waiting too long for this patch (this is for Gaspar and Petr especially).
Since I changed my job last year, I don't have access to HP scanners anymore - that's why I'm looking for volunteer testers. Short instructions: - grab latest SANE backends (using GIT or nightly snapshots, whatever you prefer) - unpack them - cd to the directory you have the source unpacked under - apply the patch using: patch -p1 < sane-backend-hp5590_4500.diff - configure && make Then follow your usual testing procedure: that could be installing to /usr/local or to a temporary directory, again - whatever you prefer. Please, set SANE_DEBUG_HP5590=255 SANE_DEBUG_SANEI_USB=255 variables while running your favorite frontend, eg: SANE_DEBUG_HP5590=255 SANE_DEBUG_SANEI_USB=255 scanimage <rest of command line> and post back resulting logs. Let me know if somebody needs more comprehensive build instrructions. Looking forward to hear back positive results, -- ?Ilia Sotnikov -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
