yes- this comes up fairly frequently, as it's the only cheap A3 machine, and the manufacturer promises Linux support which turns out to be broken, or a possible GPL violation, or both :(
So, let's do this the FOSS way. Get a log of the scanner making a small, low resolution scan using this tool: http://www.pcausa.com/Utilities/UsbSnoop/ and put a compressed copy of the image and the log somewhere we can reach it. The complexity of the protocol will decide our next move. allan On Tue, Jun 7, 2011 at 3:07 PM, giampaolo ferradini <giampaolo.ferradini at gmail.com> wrote: > hi guys, > > i would be interested in being able to run the above scanner natively (i'm > using fedora 14), and as far as my understanding goes it is so far > unsupported.? i would be willing to put up some money for the job, up to > 50$. > > the hw is seen when plugged into the usb port (lsusb results is "Bus 001 > Device 006: ID 055f:040b Mustek Systems, Inc.
