Using this scanner with xsane (gt68xx backend), I get vertical bars (perpendicular to the scanner lamp) which look just like the ones in linux-photo.jpg in the following message:
http://old.nabble.com/Mustek-BearPaw-1200CU-Plus%3A-red-saturated-regular-vertical-lines-in-the-output.-td32410784.html I have verified that there is nothing physically wrong with the scanner (in particular, no debris on the calibration bar), and in any case the bars appear throughout the image and the intensity seems to depend on image features (though I'm not sure how to describe it more precisely). Unfortunately, I was not able to get the Windows XP software provided with the scanner to install, so am not able to compare the output with Windows. Please advise on how to troubleshoot this. Thanks. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
