Hi again,

I managed to get it working by using the proprietary drivers from
here:
http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-3210-3220/file-download/enus.html?operatingSystem=linux&fileLanguage=en&contentId=101643&from=downloads&viewArchived=false
but the usb problem remains.

Another question: how can I escape the device name correctly? Since it
contains spaces it fails to work:

---
scanimage -L
device `smfp:XEROX WorkCentre 3220 on USB:0' is a XEROX WorkCentre
3220 on USB:0 Flatbed Scanner

scanimage --device-name "smfp:XEROX WorkCentre 3220 on USB:0"
scanimage: open of device smfp:XEROX WorkCentre 3220 on USB:0 failed:
Invalid argument
---

I know the "--device-name" argument is optional, but I don't to use
the default scanner.

Thanks,
Alex
