RE: Canon LiDE 220 on linux mint 13 (maya) mate
Out of the box unfortunately this printer is not found by SimpleScan or
Xsane
$ lsusb returns
Bus 001 Device 007: ID 04a9:190f Canon, Inc.
$ sane-find-scanner returns:
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a9 [Canon], product=0x190f [CanoScan],
chip=GL848+) at libusb:001:007
# Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be
supported by...etc
Editing the file libsane.rules with $ sudo gedit
/lib/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules
I have naively added 2 lines:
# Canon CanoScan LiDE 220
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04a9", ATTRS{idProduct}=="190f",
ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
All to no avail :(
Any hints will be greatly appreciated
thanks
Ed
