The Sonic Arts Forum is a group which aims to bring creative people together who are working with sound as a significant element in their work. The group holds regular meetings for open discussion of new sonic arts projects from a wide spectrum of artists, musicians, technologists and noise-makers. Anyone can join in and meetings are free. The Sonic Arts Forum is holding a meeting at Huddersfield University on the 7th of July between 10am and 5pm. This is an open event where composers, using technology to produce music can introduce their work in a friendly, informal and supportive environment. All are welcome to attend either to introduce their work or participate in discussions. Previous events have covered everything from sonic weapons to music for fruit machines, with algorithmic composition, live electronics and acousmatic inbetween.
