Hello guys and gals, let me share the experience of making Self Help Group with you.
Well We conducted a workshop earlier 2 months back also for making paper bag. but that day, only thing was done- Teaching how to make paper bags. But Tomorrow i.e. 28th Sep, on the occasion of Bhagat Singh Ji's Birthday (although I forgot his birthday, it was told by Amit Gupta to me), We made a real Self Help Group - Sahyog, with 5 ladies named- Laxmi, Jyoti, Veermati, Aarti, Babita. I started my workshop with them- as its their own business- I told them We have got order of paper bags. and envelopes , to initially in the beginning we are getting less money for this paper bag, but right now this is beginning, so wat to do, should we go on with this order, slowly and slowly we will increase the rate. They all said yes. Laxmi seems to be future leader in them. she has leadership qualities, Veermati also active but next to Laxmi. Well they all were entangled in their problems. Work at home. So I said we all will decide a time as per ur convenience- at that time we all will come after finishing work at our home. they all commited. I said it would be fast and more productive if all will work together as one can do pasting, one can do paper folding , one can do rope cutting , one can do eyelets punching. They said yes. After this interaction, I taught them making paper bag, rather we together made the paper bag as I had not learn paper bag from Smruti - I made sample own my own but yes their are some problems which will go slowly by practice. Well I would be going to conduct workshops atleast twice a week in the beginning. and there would slowly be other activities involved.
