Thsi morning I posted my answers and Mr. Ramakrishnan's (peekayar) answers to quiz # 5
as two separate Word file attachments to my e-mail to Sanskrit. I got a reply saying
the file is too big and it needs to be reviewed by the moderator before accepted. I'll
wait till late this afternoon and see what happens. If my post is not accepted because
of size limitations I may try posting my answers and Mr. Ramakrishnan's answers in two
separate e-mails. Here is the reply to my post:

Three points:
Please do not send MS Word files as attachments. Convert them to some
other format such as pdf, which is more widely used.
In general big attachments are not good. Do you have a website where you
can put those pdf files and point people to?
Why not send them the way you are sending answers till now?
I feel that you can reduce the number of questions per quiz to say,
6 or 7. More than 10, that too that last questions being too big sounds
heavyweight to me.

FYI.
"I am working full-time running the worldwide efforts towards building the
largest digital library. The major scanning is being done in India, where
the Government and the President are involved. On a side note of interest,
one of the more recent centres to come up is
http://www.sanskritacademy.org/,
besides active involvement by the Tirupati devasthanam and other groups like
the Madhva research centre. There are now 32 centres across India and the
number is growing weekly. China, egypt, italy are a few of the 60+ countries
that are at various stages of assisting this project. The Library of
Alexandria has 32 people and China has 300 scanners as we speak. The
web-site etc. are currently in beta stage and should be more accessible,
searchable etc. with clear quality scans in a few months. At this time, if
there are libraries or other goverenment institutions that would like to
participate that you are aware of, please let me know and I'll be glad to
work with them to bring it up. This is funded through grants from the
National Science foundation, Carnegie-Mellon University, The Internet
archive, Alexa foundation, HP and other foundations. The effort leverages
the different groups and is a non-profit undertaking that attempts to
provide "Universal access to ALL Human Knowledge". The capstone of this
effort can be summarised by the Book2Book vision which essentially allows
the books once scanned to be printed very inexpensively in Print on demand
equipment (US$6-10,000) and there are currently BookMobiles in Uganda, Delhi
and the US that go around printing copies of the scanned books and
distributing them. see
