Correction only for explanation. All examples and
"correct" forms in the previous message stand without
any change.
What a difference a few sUtras make!
In trying to do "simple" I missed out on a few sUtras
regarding the anusvAra. No, I am not going to quote
them.

Oops. anusvAra/visarga/some other sandhi rules are
applicable to only selected pratyayas. (and the
pratyaya used in saMyamya is not one of them). Even if
it were one of those "applicable" pratyayas, the rules
for anusvAra and visargasandhi would not have been
applicable (for the reason quoted above).
Let me take refuge behind the statement "I said it was
a hard question".

sitaa-raavaNa-samvaadajharii
by Kamarajanagar Ramasastri
Dialogue between Ravana and Sita.
This is one of several shlokas.
Ravana condemns Rama upto the first half of the
fourth paada.
Sita replies in the second half of fourth paada.
atalpaM nidraaLuH rajaniSu kuvaak durgatatamaH
mahaakaataryaaDhyo manasi vidhuta-projvalayashaaH
vadhaaanmaaMsaadaanaaM bahuvimatalaabho janakaje
kathaM shlaaghyo raamaH -------
khala tamasakR^it maa spR^isha giraa.
