------

The formation of vibhakti forms of 'e'-ending
masculine words is not seen in the siddhAntakaumudI.
After the word 'go' is the word 'rai'.

Therefore, I consider that the conjugation by Ramagazh
using the sup-terminations directly is correct, except
for his first case singular.

The termination of the first case singular should not
be deleted, and the visarga of ApteH should be
preserved. Hence:
1/s ApteH/Aptayau/AptayaH
Also, I take the form "ApebhyAm" for "AptebhyAm" as a
typo only.

In older books, they often made the conjugation of
Prakrit surnames unnecessary by embedding them as the
first part of samAsa compounds.

e.g. kALe-upanAma-dhArayantam nAgesham (my example,
not a quote)

Now, is his surname Apte or ApaTe?

ThakAra TakAra ca shabdam bhuvi' (On the earth there were sounds of Tha and Ta
(arguing) Tha for Ta or Ta for Tha).
Also note the meanings:
Tha = letter Tha; a loud noise. and
Ta = letter Ta; sound of the bowstring; earth.

Love thirsty female bird (it is a female Titar bird = tittirii), while wandering on
river banks and trees, cries in a crescendo (a pitch that increses in loudness with
the time variable).
The last combination of words in the first line is broken as - taraiH etaiH
uttarittartaH utaiH.

mama naama Tekumalla, na Tekamulla:-)

"Chid-saMyuj" is the best I could do for "cut & paste." Please refine it if you feel
like. I am sure there must be some idiomatic expression for it somewhere. Does
"samskR^ita" translate to "classic" (not classical)?

I have no published work to check it against. Your fix seems to make sense. Like I
said, I found that "taarataara.." humorous alliteration online and c&p'd it. The place
where you can find it is, go to ------
http://sanskrit.gde.to/
scroll all the way down and click on the "Subhashita" link. Go to the second item on
the list that shows up (Subhashitas 1 with translations), and click on whatever you
prefer (ITX, PDF, etc.) and then scroll down almost all the way to the bottom. You can
find it there. May be the original poster made a mistake, or a mistake crept in its
tranliteration.
