The mantra you quote:
"Ong namo gurudev namo"
is popular as the adi mantra on certain kundalini yoga
related websites. This version of kundalini yoga was
taught by the late Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji. I
have confirmed your English rendering on several
independent websites related to this stream of yoga.

These words, as written, are not valid grammatical
Sanskrit utterances. At least one of the sites, this
and other mantras are called "punjabi". This may be
the case.

It is possible that this utterance is grammatical in
Punjabi. On the other hand it may be a mix of punjabi
and sanskrit that the yogi created in an exalted
spiritual state.

For example, another mantra used by this spiritual
movement is almost certainly not grammatical in
Punjabi, nor is it so in Sanskrit.

quoted:
Aad Guray Nameh
Jugaad Guray Nameh
Sat Guray Nameh
Siri Guru Devay Nameh
:end quote

As such, the utterances used in the Yogi Bhajan
Kundalini yoga could be phonetically transcribed into
the scripts of sanskrit (devanaagarii) or punjabi
(gurumukhii). But since their spiritual worth is
presumably in their musical/rhythmic chant, they might
just as well be transcribed into English (roman
script), as you have so ably done.

Dhananjay
