priya saisvAmin,

1. bandhuH bandhau bandhvaH

  tasya taddhita prakramaNena bAndhuH bhavati.

2. bAhndhuH bAndhau bAndhvaH

I do not understand the origin of " bandhavAh" which I have seen in
many contexts. I have also come across bAndhvaH.

While thanking Mohana Rao garu for exposition of chitra paddhati / gomuutrika I
wish you all to see the following pages, if not already seen, for some more
info.

>> http://www.ibiblio.org/sripedia/ebooks/vdesikan/rps/lotus.html >> chitra
>> paddhati visual - a lotus

http://www.iiitb.ac.in/IndexPageMaterial/paduka1.htm >> some material reg
chitra bandha

Further, one Kerala gentleman has published his ancestor's chitra kaavya on
web and informed Shri Nandu of Sanskrit.gd site about it. I have downloaded
that book, now misplaced, without knowing to decipher it. It is having full
chitra kaavya paddhati shloka-s with illustrations of elephants, lotuses,
chariots etc drawn / shown according to shlokas. It is a work of some 2
centuries back pundits. Hope Mohana Rao will contact Nandu or Sai for that
online book.

Can you pl inform which sarga of Raghuvamsha has citra paddhati, and whether
those shloka-s are explained anywhere...

dhr
