Experience: Java WebSphere 3- 4 yrs Portal experience 1+ years At least 6 or more years of relevant application development experience in referenced skill sets. Demonstrated successful completion of several small scope projects with proficiency working on all phases of SDLC. Solid knowledge of and experience with problem determination and resolution through research and fact-finding. Clear and concise communication and presentation skills are required to facilitate meetings with both technical and business audiences, often across multiple functional departments. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar is preferred. If no degree, then one additional year of experience is required for each year of college not attained. High School Diploma or GED is a required. Description: Developer will work on team spanning multiple geographic locations, on the client's WebSphere Portal application. Prior WebSphere Portal experience a plus. Prior Mainframe/CICS skills preferred, but not mandatory. Java skills are essential, good communication skills a must have, and ability to work independently with minimal direction, including performing analysis/design on system changes/enhancements. Position Summary: The Sr Application Development Analyst is proficient in all critical functions for the application(s) assigned, and is expected to champion SDLC methods and best practices on the team to ensure quality standards are met. Responsible for the design/redesign, development and implementation of technical solutions, incorporating peripheral knowledge of other internal applications and related technologies in the analysis and design. Adhere to established methodologies, standards and guidelines. Duties: Responsible to work independently or participate in small to mid-size projects completing complex work requests under minimal guidance. Accountable to formulate/define system scope and objectives for deliverables ensuring established timelines and cost estimates are maintained. Provide ongoing production support and maintenance as assigned, which may include rotational 24x7 on-call support or code implementation efforts. Effectively present information and respond to questions either one-on-one or to groups, including formal presentations and regular status to management and business partners. Share technical and business expertise with other team members and business partners. Work to understand business, functional and technical issues to effectively apply technical solutions. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results. Participate in internal quality assurance review and post implementation support and system enhancements. Additionally, facilitate meetings with both technical and business audiences, often across multiple functional departments. May instruct, direct and check the work of other staff assigned to the project. Identify areas for improvement, present recommendations and champion changes. Keep apprised on industry best practices.
