Tier 1 rek :: Database Engineer :: On site Interview @ your own expense if not local. REQUIREMENT DETAILS: I have a Performance and Scalability Database Engineer position in Dulles, VA. This is a 6 months contract. Below is the job description. All candidate must be able to interview onsite after a phone screen. ***All candidates will go through a major background check including: Criminal history, Credit, Employment, Education, References**** Job Title Description: This position is within the Architecture Technology Services (ATS) division, specifically, Performance & Scalability (P&S) group. Provides Database administration, maintenance, performance testing and tuning support for the P&S environment. Engages in performing in-depth analysis of our Oracle based systems THE BIG PICTURE: - Responsible for maintaining several Oracle databases for various applications supported by P&S - Work on performance and tuning of mission critical, highly available OLTP databases with strict performance SLAs - Able to interpret Statspack, AWR, ADDM and ASH reports to identify performance bottlenecks and propose solutions - Collect and analyze SQL trace reports to identify and tune SQL statements - Work closely with the development team prototyping new features and making tuning recommendations for new application features - Experience with Oracle 9i and 10G advanced features such as Oracle Streams and Dataguard. - Work with the P&S team designing load test scenarios, building scripts and running repeatable tests to simulate production behavior, measure response times and system characteristics. - Understands systems from end-to-end including the network layer (load balancers, firewalls, packateer, etc.) and databases (Oracle) to perform thorough diagnosis and troubleshooting - Familiar with Unix operating system (Linux & AIX) including shell scripting and system health monitoring (SAR, tcp dumps, etc.) - Experience with EMC and NetApp storage systems - Assist with development and implementation of approaches for system capacity testing - Generate comprehensive reports with detailed analysis, forecasting and trending WHAT'S COOL ABOUT THIS JOB: - Opportunity to work on systems with very large transaction requirements - Learn from the most talented and motivated engineers in the industry WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH: - Reports to Manager. - Works closely with Development team - Works closely with System Architects - Works closely with Production System Administrators/Analysts & DBA's - Works closely with Quality Assurance team CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED] YIM: ashish_12p --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP ABAP" group.
