Skills: JSP, HTML, XML, ASP, PHP, JavaScript. ITIL is desired Description: DUTIES Participate in the planning, implementation and ongoing support for the clients websites Responsibilities are divided into three categories: Projects, Support and Communities of Practice. Projects The successful candidate will be involved in all front-end aspects of developing server-based solutions for a wide range of web sites and web applications * from requirements definition and functional design to technical design and implementation. The candidate should have experience developing dynamic web sites using HTML, JSP and other technologies, and have a solid understanding of web design and development. Time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently are both critical. The candidate must also have excellent communication skills. Support Candidate to provide support for system users and processes. The successful candidate will demonstrate a *take charge* attitude and ensure that problems are solved and status and resolutions communicated appropriately. Communities of Practice In order to remain connected to Global IT development standards, guidelines and best practices, it is expected that the candidate will participate fully in various Communities of Practice (CoP) that exist. In some instances, Candidate may be expected to create, facilitate or monitor one or more CoPs and lead the further evolution of standards and guidelines arising out of the CoP. SKILLS * Strong HTML, JavaScript and CSS skills are required. * Experience in developing websites that work across multiple browsers and platforms. * Experience in the use of JSP/JSTL. Experience in other markup languages (ASP, CFM, PHP, etc.) a plus. The successful candidate will have a breadth of the skills described above in order to operate effectively and be a versatile member of a web production team Candidates will have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to make decisions quickly in consultation with team members and subject matter experts. They will be able to build relationships quickly, and understand the dynamics of a global business environment. Candidates will believe in building applications the *right way*, and will not be *married* to technology, but be pragmatic and utilize technology as a tool to deliver business solutions that solve business issues on time, on budget, on scope. Candidates should also possess the ability to explore and experiment with new technologies and provide an assessment of the viability of the new technologies for a specific problem. Candidates will have enthusiasm to make a difference in the work place, they will be motivated to improve the development environment and deliver better performance to the business groups. They will have *fire in the belly*. EDUCATION * Candidates should have a proven track record of delivering high quality web sites and web-based applications * They will possess at least 4 years web development experience. * Candidates will most likely be educated to degree level.
