Manage Client Expectations 2. Manage Client Data SMEs *Position-specific Required Skills:* 1. 10 years or more experience in data modeling, relational database schema design (Physical/Logical/ERD diagramming) 2. 3+ years deep experience in XML schema design (data web service experience a plus) 3. DB2/Oracle database experience (data types, DDL, index strategy, view creation, basic administration) 4. Experience/working knowledge (proficient) on IBM InforSphere Data Architect tool (aka Rational Data Architect) 5. Excellent written and verbal communications as a professional consultant interfacing with our Clients 6. Reverse engineer the existing database tables into the modeling tool as the “Physical Data Model” 7. Add metadata (correct English full names and descriptions of the data elements, rules and logic) 8. Generate the “Logical Data Model” using the tool’s automation 9. Conduct expert analysis of the Logical Data Model; (estimated at 60 tables total) 1. Are there obvious redundancies in the model ? (i.e. Is “Customer” a type of person recorded in multiple data structures ?) 2. Are any of the relationships regarding data integrity missing ? (i.e. If “registration must have one and only one account” are there a data constraints that protects this logical relationship ? 3. Are leading data standards being followed ? 10. Log the issues/concerns/recommendations from step #4 above. 11. Add the new data tables we need at the logical data model level and repeat step #4 above for new and related data tables 12. Publish the new logical data model (the tool does this automatically as a web site) 13. Generate the new physical data model and scripts to create the new tables added in step #6 14. Use the tool to model and generate xml schema that represents the data model. The schemas will be used to exchange data between applications and the database via system integration. 15.
