Duration: (15 days contract assignment) Location: Minneapolis, MN * * * Description of Work: *There are two main tasks to be accomplished in this engagement: (1) to compare the features, functionality, costs, and implementation requirements of leading content search engines for potential use with Client’s Internet and Intranet sites, and (2) to assess the strengths and weaknesses of content search engines. Client uses the *Vignette *platform for web content management and delivery. As a consequence, the content search engines included in this evaluation must be technically compatible with a Vignette framework. The Client has also uses *Lotus Notes* databases for collaboration and Windows-based network file storage (on SAN appliances). Content search engines included in the evaluation must be able to search and index these repositories as well. Client is currently using a *Cold Fusion* free search feature but hit capacity limitations with this product. *List of Deliverables:* ** 1. Feature and functionality comparison of leading content search engines 2. Scalability of leading search engines, i.e. ability to keep pace with increasing volumes of documents to be indexed and searched 3. Cost estimates for each product based at different volume estimates 4. Degree of technical integration complexity between *Vignette* and each search product 5. Additional technical implementation considerations associated with implementing each leading content search product 6. On-going product support requirements associated with implementation of each leading content search product. 7. On-going administrative/business support requirements (e.g. meta-data tagging and prioritization/relevancy ranking of content search results) associated with each leading content search product. 8. Major strengths and weakness of the content search engines currently being used by Client.
