Project Description:
Looking for a highly motivated, self-directed, and professional Software QA and
Automation Engineer. While the primary focus of the position will be on quality
assurance testing and enabling verification, there will be opportunities for
software engineering in the form of writing software automation scripts,
automation of existing tests and parsers, as well as writing graphical user
interfaces for existing and future enabling verification tests.
Daily Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be developing validation test pl ans and/or cases,
scripting to automate tests, validating the product, and training technicians
and/or contingent workers for various product features of the Intel Software
Partner Program audit tools, including all aspects of the tool features. You
will be working very closely with development engineers and project managers to
understand the specifics of the tool requirements to develop in-depth
validation test plans. Most of the work is expected to be hands-on in a test
lab environment. Specifically, you will:
à Conduct system-level testing utilizing multiple hardware platforms,
configurations, and application workloads. Proven ability to write test plans,
test scripts, and test in a mixed Linux/Windows, client/server environment.
à Perform system-level QA (looking for major/minor bugs and user experience
issues), and documenting issues to be given to an Engineering team for
disposition.
à Setting up Linux/Windows, client/server-based systems, DNS routers, and exe
cuting tests against those systems using a wide variety of commercial software
applications.
à Write software automation scripts, automate existing tests and parsers, and
graphical user interfaces for existing and future enabling verification tests
Necessary Skills:
. Very good problem solving skills, ability to analyze and debug issues
. Experience in debugging tools/techniques
. Positive attitude, self starter, and ability to react quickly to change
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
. Experienced in test automation using Auto IT and Auto IT Recorder products
. Experience ensuring the quality of consumer-facing software
. Experience with Windows 32-bit/64-bit Client & Server (XP, Vista, Win7/Server
2003) and Linux (enterprise distributions)
. Setting up and maintaining DNS routers (wired and wireless) including setting
up WEP keys.
. Experience writing software using C, C++, C#, or Java
Additional Skills Desired:
Experience working at an independent software vendor (ISV)
Knowledge of scaleable software certification methodologies
Other Skills:
