Job Description:

The job requires basic understanding radio frequency fundamentals and
understanding of RF design and optimization activities for a wireless
service provider. The job requires performance of routine tasks under close
supervision with specific instructions on required tasks and expected
results. RF Engineer (RF I) responsibilities drive testing, site hardware
verification, drive test analysis and recommendations.

UMTS: RF optimization activities for a WCDMA network using enterprise
post-processing and KPI reporting application for cluster/market acceptance.
The job requires performance of routine tasks under close supervision with
specific instructions on required tasks and expected results.

· Perform RF optimization activities

· Perform link budget analysis.

· Carry out area and site surveys to identify RF equipment location
and antenna orientation

· Perform inter-modulation analysis

· Execute Drive Testing

· Perform RF network optimization activities by analyzing drivetest
data (RF engineer will be paired with a dedicated drivetest team for UMTS
cluster analysis)

· Tasks include log data management, log data processing, cluster
KPI reporting, market KPI reporting.

· If needed, field work will require to carry out area and site
surveys to identify RF equipment location and antenna orientation.

· Check for DT equipment setup, perform basic DC analysis - may be
required to execute drive testing for further troubleshooting.

· Identify and mitigate pilot pollution, handover issues, and other
common UMTS RF system issues.

Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:

· A minimum of 1 year experience in either one or all of the
activities such as, drive testing, post processing of drive test data.

· BSEE or an equivalent degree with one year+ experience in GSM,
GPRS, EDGE or UMTS with Performance or Optimization background desirable.
Existing Interns will be considered based on their performance.

· Clear understanding of air interface, both GSM and CDMA (UMTS
preferable)

· Experience with drivetest tools such as Ericsson TEMS, Andrew
Invex3G, Anite Nemo, PCTEL

· Clarify as well as post-processing tools, particularly Actix
Analyzer

· Good computer skills, able to work flexible hours, self- motivated
and ability to work under pressure, good interpersonal skills

· Strong organizational and communication skills

· Ability to work with other engineering groups to identify overall
network issues and identify solutions

 Thanks

Shankar
