Hi, How are you doing today? *This is for my direct client opening for WAN Contractor - Durham, NH. This is a 3 months Contract position. The Hourly rate is DOE. * *Project Description*: Perform an analysis on the bandwidth usage of transmitting WAN payload information using various Web Service standards and the availability and footprint of their implementations in order to inform the decisions of the WAN interface team in selecting and profiling the transport portion of the v1.5 Interface Guidelines. The study will be documented in the form of a white paper, which will be prepared for the WAN team. Scope of Work * * *Objective: * Assist us in finding the right set of standards to meet the v1.5 use case requirements with minimal complexity and without fundamentally limiting the functionality of the solution or its applicability to the market. The contracted is expected to consider recommendations and profiling as specified by the WS-I Basic Security and Reliable Secure profiles. *Scope*: The analysis will contain, at a minimum, a study of the following web service standards: WS-Security WS-ReliableMessaging WS-MakeConnection These standards should be evaluated on their merit with, at minimum, the following criteria: Bandwidth measurements and analysis for scenarios of Variable size payloads ranging from one measurement to multiple measurements Variable rate of measurement upload ranging from 2 WAN messages per second to 1 WAN message per hour Analysis of Web Services implementations/libraries on mobile phones “Classic” cell phone (example?) Smart phone (Symbian, iPhone, Google Android, Windows CE) PDA (Blackberry, Treo) Analysis of Web Service implementations/libraries on embedded platforms Set-top box class devices (Windows CE, embedded Linux) Router/Switch class devices Conclusions and recommendations for the usage of these web service standards. *Deliverables*: Contracted will provide the following deliverables: A White Paper that contains all the content as discussed in the previous Scope section. This document will be in the form of a Microsoft Word document. Participate in WAN team discussions by calling into to the weekly calls as needed and responding to e-mail reflector discussion germane to this work product.
