Position:  Middleware Administrator
Location: Cumberland, RI
Duration: 6 Months.

*Responsibilities*
• Hands-on experience within the IT industry administering WebLogic
Application and iPlanet servers in a production environment.
• Moderate Experience developing J2EE applications. (ie: having build a
Java application using JDBC, JMS, JNDI, configuring an NSAPI WebLogic
plugin…)
• Issue Management, Problem Management, and Change Management process
knowledge
• Ability to work independently, manages projects, take ownership of tasks
and be held accountable for the delivery of high quality products, and
customer services.
• Experience implementing and utilizing Systems Management, Performance
testing, and monitoring tools a plus (SiteScope, Optier, Load Runner, and
Splunk experience)
• Experience with IIS, PKI, Directories, and Content Management Systems
(SiteMinder, Sun LDAP, TeamSite/OD experience a plus)
• Experience with DBMS, Networking, and Server technologies a plus
• Excellent communication skills: delivering precise accurate information.
Adapting language style to a wide range of audiences. Remain calm under
pressure.
• Working experience as a project/team lead capacity a plus.
Performs the installation, configuration, and day-to-day tasks associated
with ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a Weblogic (exalogic)
runtime environment, to include the design and implementation of
infrastructure from specifications, configuration and deployment of
applications, connecting to back-end resources, and advanced
troubleshooting of moderately complex software applications.
- Deployment, administration and operational support of (production,
staging, test and development) environments for multiple projects using
WebLogic Application Server.
- Under general direction, devises or modifies procedures to solve complex
problems.
- Work with the development staff to determine project requirements for
test/production environments.
- Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of
applications server activities.
-Keep current with emerging software enhancements, security patches and bug
fixes.
-Monitor application server performance and respond appropriately.
- Modifies, installs, and prepares technical documentation for system
software applications
- Monitors systems capacity and performance, plans and executes disaster
recovery procedures, and provides Tier 2 technical support.
- Provides high level written communications such as white papers, decision
documents, or research papers
- Identify, escalate and document production impact issues for the
environment to confirmed delivery for client and business notification.
- Position requires the candidate to be highly flexible in hours of work
because of its customer-facing, highly available infrastructure necessity.




*Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills*: 6- to 8 years experience with
Web-based applications, SOA (Services Oriented Architectures) and Web
application servers ( Weblogic).
- Competency in Oracle database structures and SQL.`
3- years of experience in weblogic administration in Red Hat Linux
environment including installation, configuration, tuning, and deployment
of applications
- Extensive experience with RedHat Linux 5.6
- Experience in coherence setup and clustering (Desired: replications
across datacenters)
- Experience in Exalogic (This could be under desired skills)
- Experience in WLST and Jython scripts for repeated Weblogic
administration activities
- years of experience in configuring, tuning, Apache web servers in Linux
environments.
- Experience in working in a team environment.
- Security knowledge in Firewall, access, LDAP is a plus
- Automation of application deployments
- Experience with JDBC, JMS, WebServices, Security standards, LDAP, SSL,
preferably with OpenAM experience
- Experience with HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, Clustering, Load balancing, and
Oracle RAC
- Experience with high-availability architecture
- Evaluate and recommend changes to enhance platform reliability such as
monitoring, tools, process and best practices.
