Title: Release Project Manager for Washington, DC. posted on 2014-07-30 17:23:42 Job Description:*Position: **Release Project Manager with ITIL* *Location: **Washington, DC* *.Duration: 6+ month on-site contract plus extension* *Interview mode: Phone than Skype.Job Description:* *ITIL Certification, Strong ITIL experience, and Bachelor’s Degree* We are seeking a Senior Release Manager to join our team supporting a federal client in Washington, DC. This position will support the development and deployment of new systems, applications, and capabilities into the production environment. *This position is responsible for managing all release activities for assigned changes. Release activities and responsibilities include:* - Liaison between development project team and infrastructure teams to fulfill infrastructure requirements for assigned releases - Assist the project team in creating Requests for Changes (RFCs) and associated tasks, preparing RFCs and associated tasks for Change Advisory Board (CAB) review and subsequent IT - Assist project team with post implementation review. Assist the project team in creating and managing access requests - Ensure requested technology is approved by the Technical Review Board (TRB) and published on the Technical Reference Model (TRM) or TRM change log prior to the CAB review - Ensure proper coordination and communication between the development project team, infrastructure, and other stakeholder groups as required - Work with development project team to identify deployment approach, plan, and schedule - Identify and document release acceptance criteria from the infrastructure team - Ensure infrastructure and all components are built to design specification via documentation of test results - Ensure required build delivery components are from controlled sources - Ensure build, operations, and support documentation, as identified in the project charter, are complete for the all environments - Coordinate deployment activities into and between all environments between all stakeholder groups. - Assess each stakeholder group’s readiness to receive and implement their part of the release - Identify gaps in release, including physical, logical, requirements, artifacts, etc. - Develop and disseminate management reports on release status and progress *Qualifications:EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:* Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, systems engineering, or related field and 6+ years related experience in change and/or release management. Comprehensive knowledge of ITIL release and change management best practices. Good knowledge of current information technology systems and environments. *REQUIRED SKILLS:* Must have the ability to lead. Must have experience as a release manager or release support analyst. Must have ITIL Foundation certification.
