QA Lead *Cincinnati, OH* *6 months plus extension* The QA Lead is responsible for quality and test related process execution with high impact to the business. This includes providing feedback on artifacts developed during requirements and analysis phase within client projects; authoring test plans and test cases; and performing / leading test execution for both project and support related activities. The QA lead is responsible for leading a team of test professionals, located locally or remotely in the US or India. The QA lead is responsible for coordinating all phases of testing: system integration testing, system testing, end to end testing, performance testing, security testing, etc. Testing can be manual or automated (Selenium Web Driver and/or HP Quick Test Pro). The QA lead should be familiar with both agile and waterfall methodologies. The QA Lead should be extremely well-versed in the SDLC, but also be able to think and work outside the box, when necessary.
*Essential Job Functions: *QA Lead Responsibilities and Task Assignments: 1. Testing software interfaces with hardware 2. Create QA Task List 3. Set up metrics and reporting structure for project 4. Develop or oversee the development of test activities estimates, resource plans, costs, benefits, and timelines for projects. 5. Complete risk analysis and impact assessment for requests and ensure quality and a timely delivery of all projects. 6. Identify training needs 7. Identify test environment needs 8. Define and Create a Defect Tracking Process / Procedure 9. Create Test Plan and/or Test Strategy 10. Perform and/or Oversee Test Case Development 11. Manage the day-to-day activities of a group of testers to complete project and support related activities. Delegate assignments to staff members as a part of this process. 12. Ensure Test Case reviews with stakeholders are being held as appropriate. 13. Verify Proper Configuration of Tools 14. Formally accept application for testing. 15. Coordinate Test Execution. 16. Conduct Defect Triage meetings as appropriate. 17. Identify opportunity for automation. 18. Monitor/review automated script creation. 19. Create and/or ensure adherence to automation frameworks. 20. Coordinate other types of testing (SOA testing, performance testing, load testing), where necessary. 21. Update Project List Activities for Project Management 22. Develop, track, analyze, and communicate test-related metrics to project stakeholders. 23. Keep Management, Project Managers and stakeholders informed of current state of quality and test progress against pilot / production readiness criteria. 24. Ensure completion of all deliverables within schedule, budget and quality constraints. 25. Formally certify application for release. 26. Root Cause Analysis 27. Perform functional manual application testing, quality assurance. 28. Assess quality and test process maturity level and assist in defining strategy to implement best practices. 29. Ensure that projects follow prescribed software development life cycle standards. 30. Provide leadership to quality engineers, with complete responsibility and accountability for delivery of project tasks assigned to the QA team. 31. Identify and lead implementation of software quality metrics that results in improvement initiatives. 32. Develop and maintain good relationships with project team. 33. Manage test services for support activity and works with release management to assure product release quality 34. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, reduce support, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes. 35. Provide coaching, education, and career development for QA team. 36.
