Position : Red Hat Linux Administrator Location : Atlanta, GA Duration : Long Term *Experience/Skills required:* · 3+ years of Red Hat Linux 5/6 administration (mid to advanced level) · 3+ years of hardware diagnosis and repair (preferably HP) · 3+ years of Unix shell scripting experience · Operating System Clustering (preferably Red Hat) · Virtualization (preferably Red Hat on VMWare) *Skills Preferred:* · Red Hat Satellite Server · Kickstart System Deployment · Configuration Management · System Monitoring (Tivoli or Nagios) · Enterprise Storage Area Network (SAN) server side configuration and concepts · Experience with load balancing technology and concepts · Change Management (HPSM preferred) The successful candidate will become a member of the Computing and Storage Infrastructure: Open Enterprise Systems (OES) group within Norfolk Southern’s Information Technology Department. This candidate · will be expected to serve as a team member in OES Team in a complex, mission-critical computing environment supporting primarily Red Hat Linux and with some Solaris. The work associated with this position will be divided evenly between new projects and support activities; · must be able to work in a fast-paced 24x7 environment with on-call duties; · will be expected to interface with customers, business partners, third-party suppliers/vendors, internal IT application programmers, and internal business contacts for both new development and problem determination/resolution.
