Title: SQL DBA/Developer posted on 2014-08-19 15:11:26 Job Description:*Locals are highly preferred* Work with Project team/Architects and provide technical expertise and support of database administration and tuning. Continue to seek improvements in product performance that can be achieved through changes in database schema, logical and physical data organization, and tuning & configuration. - Implement "Database-Specific Operational Best Practices Checklist" - Perform design and code review of all database changes/projects - Performance-tuning and optimization (review blocking, do root-cause analysis of performance bottlenecks). - Work on Major Incident Escalations - Plan future-state infrastructure (storage capacity planning, server SKU recommendations, newest SQL Server features, etc.) - Setup Basic to Advanced Replication and have deep knowledge on SQL Server Replication with Excellent troubleshooting skills. - Setup Failover Clustering and hands on experience with troubleshooting issues with Clustering. - Setup database failover mechanism DB mirroring, log shipping - Good Knowledge and hands on implementation with all SQL Server 2012 new features. - Hands on experience with complex migrations between SQL Server versions with minimal downtime. - Hands on knowledge with Building and Automating scripts. - Good knowledge on SQL Server Connectivity Protocols and troubleshooting skills on SQL Connectivity - Deep knowledge on using the performance monitor and profiler tools and tracing - Fine tune SQL monitoring by ensuring that all SQL Errors are captured proactively. - Plan for high availability and disaster recovery through SQL Always on technologies - Good Understanding and Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services, Integration Services and Reporting Services - Create, Maintain or Review the "SQL Server Configuration Standards Checklist”. - Ensure SQL Servers are compliant with the supported Versions and Service Pack levels. - Create knowledge base articles for alerts/issues for DBA (Service operation) team. Job Requirements: - Engineering Degree/MCA or Equivalent - 5+ years of experience as a SQL Database Engineer - 3+ hands on Production DBA experience in handling VLDBs, especially in areas like replication, Clustering, performance tuning, disaster recovery and high availability. - Strong SQL skills (Level 300 to 400) and experience in database design, schema design, and SQL performance tuning and optimization - Excellent understanding of Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2012 operating systemGood understanding of OS and Infrastructure Network layer is value added *Preferred Certifications* MCITP, MCTS in SQL Server 2008. Certifications in SQL Server 2012 like MCSA/MCSE will be value add.
