Need Local to Irving, TX In-Person Required Unix System Administrator Irving, TX Duration: 12 months KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: * Eight years Information Technology/system administration experience. * Solid UNIX system administration experience with demonstrable results (e.g., managed systems showing minimal downtime, ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve system issues, server config documentation). * Provide primary UNIX system administration support for development and test servers; these servers support back-end web and database functions. * Provide primary UNIX scripting support (e.g., PERL, shell). * Awareness of the following: NFS & CIFS File serving protocols LINUX & UNIX experience with NIS Storage and Data Backups. * Solid skills with software installations, security remediation's, responding to various alerts in timely fashion. * Provide leadership for implementing UNIX-based software automated deployment. * Networking knowledge with the ability to diagnose networking/distributed computing environment concepts; understands basic routing concepts. * Interface with developers and testers for the appropriate configuration and tuning of UNIX servers. * Experience in successfully writing and maintaining UNIX-oriented scripts. * Experience in providing third-tier support for user help issues. * BS in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience. * Good verbal/written communication skills and strong customer service skills/diplomacy. EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATIONS * Linux and Solaris system administration * Clearcase administration, builds, VOB maintenance * Scripting languages: one or more of PERL, C-Shell, KORN-Shell. * Desirable: any web programming technologies. * Desirable: administration support of MySQL or ORACLE databases.
