*Senior Data Implementation Engineer*
*Role Description:*
- The Senior Data Implementation Engineer is responsible for delivering
integrated network solutions based on the Cisco hardware platform and
client specific requirements.
- The Senior Data Implementation Engineer acts as a lead technical
expert and liaises with the Client facing Support, Global Network
Architecture and Regional Operations teams to deliver best of class service.
- During times of major faults the Senior Data Implementation Engineer
may be called upon to provide problem diagnosis and resolution.
*Responsibilities:*
- Service Delivery
- Provide client solutions based on global standards and hardware
blueprints
- Provide capital and resource requirements to Service Delivery team
- Provide design documentation including operational processes and
procedures.
- Deployment of fault tolerant client solutions
- Incident Resolution and Management
- Liaise with Regional Operations team
- Provide 3rd level Incident Support
- Provide Vulnerability Management Support
- Post Incident and Problem Management
- Liaise with Regional Operations team to provide root cause analysis
- Provide timely incident reporting to Operational Governance and
Senior Management Teams
- Change Management Maintain the integrity of the production environment
- Participate in weekly peer technical and procedural review of all
changes submitted to the regional networking team.
- Maintain Data Implementation Team Change Log
- Perform Complex and Client based System Installations
- Track metrics on success and failures
- Optimization Deliver best of class service
- Design Assurance Liaise with Regional Operations team to ensure
proposed solution engineered to fit client needs and accounts for all
levels of resiliency and allows for growth.
- Ensure compliance with global standards including configuration and
OS best practices are applied.
*Qualifications and Required Skills:*
- Strong knowledge of Internetworking theory and practical applications
based on the Cisco design paradigm
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and tunneling including bit not
limited to BGP, VRRP/HSRP/GLBP, GRE, IPSec, OSPF, PIM, QoS
- Cisco switch and router hardware/software: IOS, CatOS, Nexus, 6500,
7200, 7600, 4900, 3900, 3800, 2900
- Knowledge of Spanning Tree and Multicast networks, including market
data distribution networks.
- Knowledge of VoIP implementations desired.
- Strong working knowledge of various diagnostic tools including packet
analyzers and distributed probes.
- Minimum of ten years professional experience with at least five years
supporting tier-one global financial organizations.
- Problem-solving skills with an emphasis on resolution of complex
technical problems and demonstrated comprehension of integrated Cisco
enterprise level architecture and design principles
- Familiarity with application load balancers, DNS, DHCP, Windows and
Unix operating systems, security architecture including firewalls and
proxies
- Strong leadership skills with ability to focus and perform in
time-sensitive high-pressure environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written
communication skills as well as attention to details
- Cisco CCNP/CCIE certification preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering highly
desirable
