Hi, How are you doing today? We are looking for a Sr. MySQL DBA - NYC, NY. This is 12 to 48 months contract position - The rate is 40-50/hour. The MySQL DBA will be responsible for the administration of MySQL v5.1 enterprise databases in InnoDB/myISAM mode running on RHES v5.x in production/QA/dev environments. Administration will include installation, configuration, monitoring, optimization, tuning, troubleshooting, backup, recovery and upgrades. The MySQL DBA will also be responsible for designing, implementing and supporting a formal High Availability (HA) and Redundant solution, preferably based on clustering or replication. Furthermore, the MySQL DBA will be responsible for implementing a formal backup and recovery solution with documentation. DBA will also be responsible for optimizing schemas, queries and indexes, quickly diagnose database and server problems and employ preventive measures to maintain high availability servers and mentoring JAVA software engineers to develop applications that interact with MySQL in a SOA environment. Qualifications/Skills 1) Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years experience in installing and configuring MySQL databases on Linux 2) Proficient in configuring and monitoring MySQL Cluster and/or MySQL Replication 3) Experience in MySQL database design using Workbench or any other data modeling tools 4) Experience implementing and documenting configuration and security standards for MySQL database. 5) Experience with MySQL storage engines, HA and redundant solutions, Backup and recovery techniques. 6) Experience in Linux and shell scripting. 7) Experience in MySQL configuration and performance monitoring tools i.e. MySQL Enterprise Monitor, Query Browser, Replication Manager, NaviCat, etc. 8) Java expertise is a plus. 9) MySQL DBA Cerification I and II is highly recommended. *Please complete the following skills-matrix and send back with your updated resume. * *Full Name: Degree Major: Total IT Experience: Total Experience as Sr. MySQL DBA: Total Experience in administration of MySQL v5.1: Total Experience in installing and configuring MySQL databases on Linux: Total MySQL Cluster and/or MySQL Replication Experience: Total Experience in Workbench or any other data modeling tools: Total MySQL storage engines experience: Total Linux and shell scripting experience: Total MySQL configuration and performance monitoring tools experience: Total experience in Java: Do you have MySQL DBA Cerification I and II?
