Looking for Sr. profiles preferably 8-10 years Job Title: Database Developer II Location: Bellevue, WA Duration: 4 Months + (Possible Extension) Description: The Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team is currently looking for talented individuals that can deliver high quality BI solutions. As part of this team, you will be supporting the visualization aspects of Expedia’s Business Intelligence by performing data analysis, modeling, and proving your hands-on expertise with reporting and visualization tools. You will be in Development and QA capacities, spearheading the full development/QA lifecycle of the BI solutions including design, code development, code reviews, unit testing, build/test support, deployment activities, and post deployment support. Responsibilities: Assess business rules; define application architecture, design, review, implement and optimizing BI artifacts like reports and dashboards. Review project plans, review development and test specifications, perform data analysis, provide Development and QA support for existing systems, troubleshoot data and/or system issues within the Data Warehouse environment as well as upstream systems, as needed. Drive investigations across the organizations and deliver resolution of technical, procedural, and/or operational issues to completion and ensure customer satisfaction. Define, develop and maintain artifacts like design documentation, test plans, test cases, and scenarios; execute test scripts, document test results noting deltas between actual and expected results, and develop/manage test schedules in cooperation with the project manager. Build/extend toolsets, create/maintain batch jobs, create systems documentation, and manage/mentor other developers. Qualifications: Required: Strong Background in Data warehousing principles, architecture and its implementation in large multi-terabyte environments. Development background must include experience in BO3.1 and BI4 Strong experience with end to end implementation of BI solutions involving Business OBjects and Tableau. Strong Communication, Customer Service, and deep analytical skills Strong background in defining, architecting and implementing BI Frameworks Hands-On experience Designing/architecting universes using Business Objects (BOBI) and developing reports\dashboards using Tableau Solid background in SQL Server/DB2 query and data investigation fundamentals. Hands-on experience using procedural languages in DB2, Oracle or Teradata. Ability to create and interpret data models using ERWIN, PowerDesigner, etc. Ability to read and interpret data schemas, with emphasis on SQL Server/DB2 implementations. Optional: Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM model. Hands-on experience with MPP environments like DB2, Teradata or Netezza implementations. Experience with ETL Design/Development knowledge. ETL Development using Informatica PowerCenter, Functional scripting skills to perform data/file manipulation (e.g., PERL) Experience with testing practices, processes and artifact creation, and user acceptance testing. Exposure to no-sql technologies and big data platforms such as Hadoop, HBASE or Cassandra. Must be able to drive investigations to completion and ensure customer satisfaction. Must be flexible and motivated to work in a fast-paced environment. Core Competencies: Strong customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment and stay motivated and flexible. Ability to work cross functionally to resolve technical, procedural, and operational issues. Education and Work Experience: MS/BS degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent work experience. 8+ years in data warehouse technologies and/or a back-end reporting systems.
