The resources should have primary administration and support skills in an
enterprise applications environment involving middleware
(WebLogic/Glassfish), database (Oracle), J2EE, Oracle ESB, Web Services,
EAI, etc as primary skills, while Unix (Solaris) / Linux (Red Hat Linux)
OS, VMware, Shell Scripting skills can be considered as secondary skills.
The resource should be well versed in SDLC processes.
The position would be responsible for supporting various applications
on UNIX (Solaris), Linux (RHEL) and virtualized platforms. The candidate
should demonstrate great competency in production support, with expert
knowledge in planning, design, architecture and implementation following
SDLC practices. Apart from execution of duties, the candidate should
demonstrate capabilities in technical leadership within the scope of
project implementation, infrastructure maintenance/support, and their own
talent development.
*Responsibilities: *
· Design, architecture, implementation and support of client’s
various applications on Unix, Linux and VMware platform
· Work directly with internal teams to deliver technology solutions
that meet business challenges, effectively communicate technical and
business messages to customers
· Must gain complete understanding of each application, its usage,
technical structure and functionality experience with complex system
environments, including multiple locations and companies integrated
environments
· Troubleshoot and resolve critical issues detected via monitoring
or system analysis
· Perform pro-active capacity planning, including short term and
long term trend analysis
· Respond within defined SLA requirements in relation to system
issues
· Able to work on an on-call rotation responding to system issues
· Work closely with neighboring departments with the intent to
ensure proper implementation of projects and maintain a collaborative effort
*Skills:*
· 5+ years of experience as a Unix, Linux application engineer or
system administrator focusing on supporting Java applications and Oracle
databases on Unix / Linux platforms
· Strong experience in troubleshooting, configuring and implementing
various applications on Unix / Linux platforms
· Strong understanding of Release and Change Management processes
· Handle all additional tasks as required
· Excellent understanding of TCP/IP skills
· Solid knowledge of SQL, working knowledge of relational databases
· Experience with design, administration and configuration of Oracle
ESB / SOA stack, (WebLogic, GlassFish, JCAPS experience a big plus)
· SOA / Web Service / EAI knowledge
· Performance analysis, tuning and capacity planning
· Application health monitoring
· Architecture and design experience in enterprise application
environment
· Knowledge on SDLC practices
· Preference in experience in healthcare, workers compensation or
outcome assurance industry
· Project management, delivery projects in time and budget
