Job Title : Sr. Oracle Database Administrator (10+yr of Exp on Oracle) Location : Phoenix, AZ (F2F Interview) Duration : 6+ Months BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB Responsible for the Oracle Database Administration (DBA) of all SAP and Non SAP databases. The Senior Oracle Database Administrator manages the oracle installations, support and maintains all new systems, as well as provides database support to Basis teams, development teams and end users. This position participates in the on-call rotation (24 X 7) to support databases during hours, after hours and on weekends. The requirements listed below are representative of overall responsibilities required. DBA and technical core competencies tasks including Oracle software installation on Unix / Linux / AIX. Database upgrades/migrations from 9i to 10g Database creation. Applying patches to the Oracle database. Database Backup and Recovery using RMAN Database restores using RMAN. Working with Standby databases / Data guard Performance Tuning Oracle database parameter changes Oracle Memory management. Database space management. Creating users Import/Export Experienced in Unix shell scripting and Cron jobs Workload analysis on database servers Database error analysis Database health checks. Monitoring of database activity including, but not limited to, database locks, trace files, alert log files, checking space. Maintain multi-landscape database environments through database refreshes. Assist developers, Basis team members with expensive queries tuning. Working closely with BASIS/Developers/Business Analysts to troubleshoot and tune the production environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following essential job function satisfactorily and must have the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Work with Basis teams and development teams to manage and support all the database environments. Ability to interact with end users to identify and resolve production issues related to their usage of the database. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 10 + years of hands on experience with Oracle Database Administration Experience working with large databases. Strong team building skills, with ability to build quick and effective work rapport with others. Solid verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. A high standard for work ethic and quality is required. Knowledge of infrastructure processes & procedures. Knowledge/Experience of oracle databases on SAP applications is a plus. Participated in multiple full lifecycle database upgrades/migrations Support, maintain multiple Development, QA, Training, Production database environments. Experience of Oracle databases on TRU64, UNIX operating systems as related to database installation. AIX preferred. Mentor and train junior team members Excellent Analytic, Problem solving, and interpretation skills. Strong documentation skills required. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Any Other Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Oracle 9i/10g DBA certification (OCP) is a plus.
