Job Description –

Manage a mixed Active Directory 2003/2008R2 infrastructure across a global
enterprise. Assist in the support of support of a highly available
multi-domain directory infrastructure platform.

- Engineer, assess, and review future directory architecture solutions
- Manage 3rd party directory management tools and applications and
implement/maintain life cycle maintenance processes.
- Assist in the development of policies, standards and position statements
for new and existing AD related technologies.
- Provide technical and project leadership across a diverse team of
Windows, Messaging, and Directory Engineers
- Provide capacity planning and performance monitoring to sustain and
improve platform availability and efficiency.
- Coordinate service/support needs with Vendors, Technical Support
Engineers, Application Support Engineers, and the Platform Teams through
effective partnership, collaboration and communication.
- Develop, define and publish best practices and processes for Staples’s
directory infrastructure based on industry and vendor published best
practices.
- Provide and implement Change Management methodologies for the deployment
of application or infrastructure related changes.
- Provide 3rd level support for Active Directory for end users, application
and administration teams.
- Possess the ability to be comfortable in addressing Priority 1 incidents
that can arise 24 X 7 on a rotational basis. Must be willing to accommodate
weekend, shift or on-call schedules when necessary.
- Participate in security and application troubleshooting and incident
problem resolutions with other infrastructure teams, including storage,
messaging, and platform teams.
- Should have a solid understanding of IT components including Networking,
Network Load Balancing, various Windows Operating Systems, SAN/NAS storage,
x86 hardware, Single Sign-On solutions, Java/.NET applications. Knowledge
of identity management systems and ADFS is a plus.
- Must have a solid understanding of the Information Technology
Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles, practices and processes in
providing and managing the delivery of a large scale, enterprise-wide
service. This includes incident management, problem management, change
management, configuration management, and availability/continuity
management. The member must have sufficient knowledge and experience to
design and establish these processes and practices within a service
organization.
- Ability to work successfully with others in large and small teams.
Ability to motivate and inspire others to perform at a high level, taking
appropriate risks, and accepting personal accountability for actions and
decisions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to transform
technical knowledge into business language (e.g. reports, presentations,
etc.)
- Should have extensive experience in key IT infrastructure services such
as DNS,DHCP,WINS,KMS and Microsoft Active Directory.
- Should have extensive experience in Windows Server 2003/2008R2. Windows
Server 2012 experience a plus.
- Should have experience administering Active Directory in an enterprise
class environment (50,000+ users) with multiple forests.
- Should have strong PowerShell scripting experience as it relates to
managing server infrastructure
- Should have experience in the acquisitions and divestures as it relates
to IT services and migration. Knowledge of Quest (Dell) Migration tool
suites as plus
