* *Client is looking for *Embedded Systems Developer - Tucson, AZ. This is a 3-6 Month Contract **position*. *Local candidates only.* *Job Description:* In this role, the Engineers will be porting applications to a new .net compact framework platform. This is not web or client/server development, but mobile software development. Our client has several products that need improvement with apps memory storage and speed of transfer. Our client has a suite of mobile units where data gathered remotely is transmitted via wireless back to the corporate headquarters via mobile radio units. The mobile units are what you will be working on. *Must haves:* - Understand the constraints and characteristics of *embedded software* - Experience in *.Net Compact Framework* - Experience in development targeted for *Windows CE* - Ability (actually not “being able to”, it’s more like “being very comfortable in”, almost “enjoy”) to read-and-understand source code previously written, easily navigating without getting lost in somebody else’s implementation Plus: - MS-SQL Server knowledge - Fluency in C++ (there are lots of lessons to learn in the Legacy C++ code) - Experience with Windows CE BSPs - Experience in optimization & profiling - Experience on the differences between .Net Compact Framework and .Net Framework implementations, and what to avoid doing on CF, as opposed to regular Framework - Experience with mapping software or video on small screens *Note:* *Candidate must provide his/her own laptop with anti-virus software. The laptop should be equipped with Windows XP.
