Experience in working on an IT development team, specifically using C#.

.NET 2.0/3.0 development experience in WinForms.

Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) experience.

Experience of test driven development.

Experience working with source code control tools, mainly Perforce and/or
ClearCase.

An investment banking/finance background.



*Preferred*

Database experience with Oracle (minimum 10g R2, 11G preferred).



*Skills / Knowledge:*

Strong C# development skills, .NET 2.0/3.0.

Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) GUI development

Strong knowledge of one source control tool, preferably Perforce or
ClearCase.

Team player, strong analysis skills

Excellent problem solving skills

Ability to multitask

Strong analytical and logical skills - the ability to resolve issues in a
high-pressure environment.

Knowledge of software development 'best practices' and software development
life cycle.



*Preferred*

Knowledge of Finance / Middle Office processes in an investment banking
environment.

Knowledge of Business Process Modeling (BPM), ideally using Enterprise
Architect would be advantageous.

*Department Overview*



Finance IT develops applications and provides IT support to the bank's
Financial Control function. It's a global function, covering many different
sites, across all business lines. The main functional areas covered are:

·         P&L and balance sheet reporting to Product Control and Finance.

·         MI reporting to senior management.

·         Adjustment and Provisioning functionality.

·         Book static and hierarchy maintenance.

The Finance IT team is spread over three continents (Europe, Asia and US).

   *Main Function*



The role is that of a C# GUI developer on the Equities Funding project,
ensuring on-time delivery of quality code. The role will involve working on
all parts of the architecture including the UI and services based on the
defined architecture.

The Equities Funding project aims to build a Global Equities Funding
Platform, providing a centralized cost of carry calculator and a common view
and query tool on the underlying data.  The project will use a message based
SOA architecture and Business Rules Management System (BRMS).

   *Main Duties*

*Technical Responsibilities*
*Analysis:
*Assistance as required in the requirements analysis for system enhancements
and changes.

*Design:*
Interpretation and understanding of functional specifications.
Writing technical design documents adhering to predefined standards.

*Code:
*Hands on development of the client interface, utilizing C#/WPF.
Hands on design and development of C# libraries and classes.
Ensuring code written meets the predefined company and department standards.
Performance tuning to ensure acceptable application performance.

*Quality Assurance:*
Conducting peer reviews and providing constructive feedback.
Mentoring any less experienced members of the team - or those new to the
technology.

*Testing:*
Preparation of detailed unit test cases.
Execution of unit test cases and documentation of results.
Providing support during QA and UAT test phases.
Diagnosis and resolution of defects found during QA and UAT test phases.

*Implementation:*
Training and knowledge transfer to support team when the time comes.

*Post-Implementation:
*Point of contact for support team, investigating and resolving post-release
issues found in production.


*Communication Responsibilities*
Communicate effectively with the other Equities Funding development streams
and the local development manager.
Participate in and contribute to technical discussions.
