This includes operating system installation, tuning and maintenance activities; change management; documentation of existing and proposed systems; coordination with application administrators, user communities and IT professionals on other teams. This position will be working standard business hours, and will require flexibility for potential on-call hours. *Duties and Responsibilities: * 1. Build, tune and maintain Operating Systems, Network and Storage Area Network (SAN) Systems in support of assigned business applications. 2. Lead all aspects of the activities required to ensure the assigned operating systems are available to the appropriate user community, as arranged, and in a manner that is effective, efficient and secure including but not limited to the following: •Plan, manage, document and perform installations and upgrades for the operating system, hardware, and firmware. •Monitor performance, tune, and maintain historical performance data. •Develop and execute system recovery plan. •Implement, and maintain system security. 3.Work as a team member or lead on multiple projects and assignments relating to UNIX, LINUX, VMware, and Windows operations or related application initiatives. *Performance Criteria:* 1. All assigned systems are stable and available to the appropriate user communities during the defined hours of operation. 2. Software upgrades, patches, configurations, and other change management activities are efficiently and effectively implemented. 3. Ensure IT and customer communities are well informed regarding infrastructure changes or problems that affect their work environment. 4. Effective development, documentation and execution of project plans. 5. Demonstrated leadership in operating system and network related technologies. 6. Clear and effective interactions with IT staff and management. *Qualifications:* 1. Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. 2. Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Windows, Linux, and/or VMware operating systems administrator. 3. Strong background supporting operating systems running corporate business applications. 4. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a SAN administrator. 5. Demonstrated experience working on project teams and ability to meet project objectives. 6. Demonstrated experience managing the Microsoft Windows, Linux and/or VMware operating system. 7.Demonstrated ability to work as an integral, effective member of a large technical team. These positions can reside in MN or across the US to match up with physical location of worksite.
