This data will be instrumental for DCC migration planning, post migration validation and performance troubleshooting. This resource will be responsible for generating and maintaining the data used to feed the application topology creation process (Riverbed NetProfiler). The resource will also be responsible for maintaining parallel application definition data in systems responsible for collecting application transaction performance metrics pre and post migration (Gigamon and Compuware DCRUM). Resource need: AZL has a need for a resource to create Application Managed Services in a RiverBed SteelCentral NetProfiler tool and audit and update application definitions in existing APM tools specifically Compuware DCRUM and supporting Gigamon infrastructure. Experience directly with these technologies is not required but a good understanding of application flows and traffic from a network perspective is required. The primary tasks will include taking network conversation flows and creating application network flow documentation from these flows in concert with the application SMEs. This is very detailed work and will likely require multiple iterations with each Applications SMEs to finalize the documentation to the required level. Using final documentation existing application definitions will be audited and updated as needed to ensure proper baseline application performance data is collected. Candidate MUST have: • 3-5 years, working with Off the shelf and custom applications in an enterprise environment • A good understanding of switched networks, VLANs, Load Balancing, DNS in an enterprise environment. • Experience with network monitoring tools, and an understanding of Event Management, Net Flow tools and concepts. • An understanding of application network flow diagrams, and network port and protocols. • Ability to interview, understand and assimilate application function information from developers and application owners, and apply this understanding in the creation of application network flow diagrams. • Ability to deal with ambiguity, and interested in learning new skills • Ability to work to requirements with minimal direct supervision • Candidate will be very detail oriented ensuring adherence to precise tool configuration management processes and documentation.
