*Position Summary:*



*Seeking a Systems Administrator with 5+ years of UNIX experience. You will
join a focused, professional team that is responsible for maintaining a
global 24x7x365 IT shop.*



*The following skills are required:*

·         High skill with most Solaris, AIX, and/or Linux administration
commands and utilities

·         Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Perl,
Tk, Bourne shell, etc.)

·         Experience with building and configuring Apache HTTPD and Apache
Tomcat

·         Configuration and understanding of NIS, FreeIPA, DNS(BIND), DHCPD

·         Experience with installation/maintenance/backup of Oracle, MySQL,
PostgreSQL

·         Familiarity with automated configuration systems such as CFEngine
or Puppet

·         Experience configuring monitoring software such as Nagios,
WhatsUp Gold, Zenoss

·         Solid understanding of IP networking as it relates to local area
networks, work with Network Engineers to troubleshoot advanced network
issues

·         Define, document, and perform system maintenance and diagnostic
procedures

·         Assist in creation and deployment of disaster recovery & business
continuity plans



*The following skills are desired:*

·         Degree or certificate in computer science related field

·         Unix virtualization technologies including Solaris LDOM/zones and
AIX LPARs/WPARs

·         Knowledge of Enterprise storage systems and replication
technologies including NetApp, Nimble, EMC, and EqualLogic

·         Experience with Enterprise backup solutions and software
(NetBackup, CommVault)

·         Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMWare, HyperV
and/or Zen.

·         Experience performing simple administration tasks on Cisco
network equipment (VLAN changes, Shutdown port, view bridge table, view arp
table, etc)

·         Participate in architecture, capacity planning, budgeting, and
forecasting activities



*Example responsibilities:*

·         Acts as a front line interface to users

·         Responds quickly to monitoring system alerts and incoming tickets

·         Creates and maintains new NFS/CIFS shares and iSCSI LUNS

·         Install/upgrade hardware and the storage system operating system

·         Install/upgrade hardware and Unix/Linux operating systems and
applications

·         Virtualization of current Unix/Linux environments

·         Participates in planning and purchasing process

·         Shares responsibility in a 24x7 on-call rotation
