*Title: EDW Data Analyst* Location: Omaha, NE- local to NEBRASKA needed Duration: 6 months *Major Job Function:* - Participates in the design, creation, and support of EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse). - Define user interfaces, functional specifications and business rules. - Responsible for verifying accuracy of data, and the maintenance and support of the data warehouse. - Responsible for quality control and auditing of EDW to ensure the accuracy of data. - Resolve data conflicts and inappropriate use of data. - Able to work with management to develop EDW strategies to support company needs and advise and consult with users on accessing EDW *Essential Job Functions* 1. Assists project manager in defining clear and accurate project plans, i.e., scope project, forecasted tasks, timetables, and contents of project iterations. 2. Complete all analysis and design artifacts specified in the SDLC Methodology, with good quality, on or before planned dates. 3. Support the configuration and rollout of the product 30 days post install. 4. Provide regular status reporting to management. Provide business/technical consultative support as appropriate, to standing decision-making committees. 5. Provides feedback to team about how processes and procedures can become more efficient. *Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* 1. Strong Communication and Professional Skills - both written and oral. 2. Must have experience communicating technical concepts to others 3. Ability to write detailed source-system Design analysis and source-to-target Design Documents 4. Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills 5. Demonstrate the ability to organize and prioritize a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment 6. Perform detailed source-system analysis, source-to-target data analysis, and transformation analysis. 7. Build and improve various solutions by translating business requirements into robust, scalable, and supportable solutions that work well within the overall system 8. Follow all BCBSNE standards, policies and procedures 9. Ensure utilization of data dictionary and Meta data repository. 10. Experience with ER Studio. 11. Work with ETL Developers on all ETL development work. 12. Detailed Understanding of Logical and Physical Modeling standards 13. Detailed Understanding of both Relational and Dimensional data modeling. 14. Attend and approve all design reviews to ensure best practices with source-system and source-to-target analysis. 15. In depth understanding of SQL Server and Transact SQL and XQuery. 16. In depth understanding of XSD, XML and XML related technologies. 17. In depth understanding of Insurance Industry. 18. Work with team members, management and production DBAs on new SQL Server features and enhancements that would improve the EDW environment 19. Proficient testing skills 20. Act as Knowledge Resource for other members of the team and Quality Assurance team *Education, Training and Experience Required* 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related area of study or equivalent work experience. 2. Minimum 5 years of experience in data warehousing practices, standard concepts and procedures. 3.
