REST. 8 years of experience is required. *Qualifications:* · Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience · 8 years total technology experience · Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills · Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills · Experience with object-oriented analysis and design technologies · 6 years of combined Java and .NET development experience · 4 years developing web development experience · Strong understanding of JMS and REST / web service APIs · Demonstrated understanding of Unix and Windows operating systems *Ideal candidate will be:* · Keen to learn and apply new technologies · Technically savvy in developing high quality software solutions that integrate within a highly complex and mature code base · A self learner, self driven and able to operate with minimal supervision · A skilled practitioner of software engineering design best practices · Demonstrate ownership on accountabilities · Able to successfully communicate with partners of varying levels of technical expertise · Proactive in raising problems and identifying solutions · Adept at understanding customer needs and designing solutions that solve critical business problems · Able to work in a highly collaborative team setting * Key Responsibilities:* · Apply industry standard techniques to capture and document software requirements · Independently design and document the software system modifications needed to satisfy the stated requirements · Provide technical direction and develop solutions for Cloud integration stories · Develop prototype or “proof of concept” implementations of projects where the technical solution is unknown or unproven · Work directly with our business partners to implement our application management capabilities · Investigate new backend technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Cassandra, OpenStack, Puppet and Kafka) to determine applicability · Drive detection and resolution of critical technical support issues · Development of strategy to identify and correct software performance bottlenecks · Provide input, feedback and technical guidance to the leadership team *Preferred Experience:* · Experience with interpreting customer needs into functional software requirements documents · Experience working with a variety of open source software tools · Experience driving design meetings and writing technical design documents · Experience developing solutions using Agile methodology · Understanding of Oracle database technologies including connection pooling and schema development Candidate will work on a team of 15 including 2 leads. Day to day will consist of: Stand-ups (2X/wk), 2 week iterations and intakes across the globe, primarily focused on Legal. Will be responsible for maintaining a mature set of tools (Back-end services). 3 must haves for this role include 1. This team is responsible for building key infrastructure components that make up the Thomson Reuters Application Management Suite (TRAMS). This suite of tools is used across Thomson Reuters for software deployment, configuration management, application and system logging, platform monitoring and alerting. The core components of this suite have recently been built in several strategic data centers across the world. This team works closely with the Architecture teams, Platform Operations teams and the Data Center to develop and support standardized application management solutions for use across the entire company.
