As a systems technologist you will be an essential part of an
infrastructure organization that that provides engineering services for
various business groups, including their applications and infrastructure.

This technically focused, lead, position will provide designs, solutions
and support as the technology landscape transforms to take advantage of new
cloud technologies, as well as leveraging proven virtual and physical
technologies.

Additional areas of responsibility include process development,
documentation, technology road maps, mentoring operational staff and
ongoing evaluation of new technology.



*Position Details:* Responsibilities of the systems technologist will
include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

·         Design and provide technical leadership for projects of
significant size and complexity.

·         Designs will adhere to Enterprise level technology standards
being both technically sound and efficiently supportable with adherence to
rigorous cost control.

·         Develop solutions that take advantage of external cloud
technologies and feature sets to facilitate the organizations strategic
direction.

·         Design creative and fiscally sound solutions that are forward
thinking and can pull from a variety of disciplines

·         Create scripts and use monitoring tools to efficiently build,
deploy and support.

·         Leverage scripting technologies and tools for a faster time to
market, gather data for analysis and complete tasks.

·         Perform and lead tasks related to security patching, safeguarding
the environment and maintaining corporate compliance requirements Partner
technically and professionally with business groups and resources across
organizations to achieve goals and objectives.

·         Be able to work effectively with individuals having a wide
variety of different backgrounds, experience and technical ability
Contribute to and encourage a collaborative team environment by being a
team player and helping define the team itself

·         Be the lead engineer on projects to guide and deliver successful
results.

·         Able to contribute in ways that are not just limited to
technology in an effort to achieve project goals

·         Proactively analyze data and use it to develop and recommend
solutions to meet future capacity needs and maintain a healthy streamlined
environment.

·         Ability to gather and use metrics as a tool for creating
solutions and maintaining defined support SLAs Create accurate and well
maintained technical documentation to make tasks successfully repeatable
and enable a collaborative team environment

·         Fulfill the role as a technical subject matter expert and *lead
for key Linux operating systems environments*

·         Flexibility to provide off-hour support on a rotational basis ;



*Skills:* *Must have expert level skills with RHEL and Centos with
experience in AIX or Solaris a plus, including experience with: BASH, Perl
and/or Python scripting *

·         Utilizing a Kickstart and Satellite server Oracle and/or MySQLSAN
and NAS (CIFS, NFS, iSCSI) storage Openssh and openssl experience a plus

·         Experience with Amazon Web Services a plus, including but not
limited to :Launching EC2 instances associated to VPCs and subnets,
configuring security groups and autoscaling Glacier, S3 and EBS storage
concepts Creating Cloud Formation templates using JSON a plus Ability to
administer virtual servers in a VMware ESX environment including cloning,
modifying virtual hardware and addressing compute resource constraints

·         Experience with Chef for scalable automation and the DevOps model
is a plus

·         Must have a general understanding of networking such as: DNS
services, load-balancers, routing, firewalls, etc. to be leveraged for
designs and troubleshooting

·         Familiar with server hardware from HP, IBM or Dell, including
RAID technology.

·         Cisco UCS experience is a plus Must be self-motivated, eager to
learn and willing to take and give direction Strong coordination,
organization and communication skills

·         Work well independently or in a group and maintain a positive
attitude

·         Ability to work under pressure and time constraints

·         Ability to translate unique requests into technical solutions
Successfully present technical information in a clear and concise manner

·         Ability to recognize opportunities to improve processes and
invoke positive change
