*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*
- Three full life cycle SAP project implementation preferred.
- 8+ years of SAP Basis Administration experience
- 10+ years IT infrastructure experience
- Excellent communication skills
*Time-frame: *Positions to begin effective on or about 10/19/2009; for
approximately six (6) calendar months. Renewal for six (6) additional
months upon satisfactory performance by the candidate.
*Summary:*
Working under the direction of the South Carolina Enterprise Information
System (SCEIS) Architecture, Design and Technology* *Lead, candidates will
provide basis administration services related to the design, installation,
administration, testing and on-going maintenance of SAP and SAP third-party
software packages and patches, which is currently being supported and
implementing across South Carolina State government. The major components
of SAP included are ECC 6.0 SAP_BASIS 701, SRM 5.5 SAP_BASIS 700, BI 7.0,
SRM 7.0, XI 7.0, Portal 7.0.
The SAP Basis Administrator requested under this SOW administrates SAP and
SAP 3rd party applications. The position requires analyzing system
requirements, service patch administration, managing change requests,
providing work estimates, configuration of standard solutions, testing and
all other SAP and SAP 3rd party administration functions. This includes
support of a 5 system landscape, system enhancements and project
implementations.
*Specific Duties and Responsibilities*
Ø SAP Basis Administration in a Windows Server 2003 SQL 2005 environment
Ø Working knowledge of SAP in an HP infrastructure 64 bit hardware
environment
Ø SAP Basis administration and technical core competencies tasks including
SAP software installation, upgrade, applying Support Packages, and
installation of add-on software components
Ø SAP profile parameter changes, workload analysis, system error analysis
and establishment of standard Basis background jobs and system health checks
and monitoring
Ø Impact analysis of new SAP releases to current system landscape
environments
Ø Design of solution and assistance to project and production support teams
in deploying the solution
Ø Analysis of system performance, database performance, system health
checks and implementation of tuning improvements
Ø Establishment of OSS and Early Watch connections where appropriate
Ø Participation in multi-landscape design solutions, architecture
recommendations, and client strategies for continuous improvement
Ø Maintenance of multi-landscape environments through client copies, system
refreshes, and transport management
Ø Responsibility for optimal disk layout, file system structures, OS
tuning/performance improvements, and troubleshooting
Ø Technical consulting and mentoring to application development,
functional, global rollout, integration and change release management teams,
and also to fellow Basis Administrators
Ø Technical Leadership and participation in technical projects across
multiple teams
Ø Investigation and engineering of new technologies and solution from SAP
and associated software vendors
Ø Practical experience interfacing to 3rd party technologies such as
Vertex, BSI, Adobe Forms, Doc Builder, Nakisa, Business Objects and other
common SAP bolt-ons
