*Position : QA Tester* *Location : Albany, NY * *Duration : 24+ Months * *Phone / Skype * *Job Responsibilities* - Complete Quality Assurance testing of: executables, stored procedures, triggers, batches, reports, reference tables, utilities and interface systems. - Review user specification documents and provide input as needed into the creation of test scenarios. - Create manual test cases or automated test scripts for each test initiative using the template test case spreadsheet. - Upload approved test cases into *HP ALM 11.0 (QC - Quality Center)* and link them with the appropriate requirements and cycle in QC. - Review test cases and test scenarios prepared by other members of the Quality Assurance and Business Analysis team. - Complete Quality Assurance testing and document test results in QC. - Log and document defects in QC - Present defects and demo as needed in daily defect meetings or to members of App Dev team. - *Create/Execute SQL queries using SQL Advantage* or Microsoft SQL Server to identify test data and to validate records or fields in the database that are not accessible through the front end application. - Track time, effort, and status of tasks and report to the application development supervisor and manager as requested. - Prepare work estimates as requested. - Prepare documentation as requested. - Complete assignments based on priority and order provided by the QA lead or QA Manager. - Provide assistance to other members of the team as needed. - Set up and QC test environments in preparation for UAT Testing if needed. - Follow standards related to IT’s development methodology *Job Requirement* - 6+years of experience working directly with business analysts, program subject matter experts and technical staff, to create robust test plans for desktop and web applications. - 6+ years of experience creating, managing and executing functional test and regression test scripts, and documenting, tracking and communicating defects. - 5+years hands-on experience recording and scripting automated functional tests.
