*Windows Admin with VMWARE*



6 months contracting immediate opening in Bayarea



*Position Responsibilities*

•        Monitor and manage a large platform of x86 servers

•        Manage application environments to minimize outages and service
interruptions

•        Quickly troubleshoot problems and analyze failures to minimize
outages and service interruptions

•        Communicate problems and solutions both verbally and in written
from to peers and management

•        Work with various teams to deploy new features and upgrades

•        Proactively identify and recommend updates to software, hardware,
or architecture as necessary before reaching capacity limitations

•        Develop and implement shell scripts to manage operational and
administrative needs

•        Create and maintain technical documents and standard operating
procedures



*Basic Qualifications*

•        7 years of experience OR Master’s degree in Computer Science,
Computer/Management Information Systems or Engineering and 8 years of work
experience.

•        Experience in performing general UNIX administration (Linux,
HP-UX,),

•        Experience with VMWare ESXi.

•        Experience installing, configuring, and administering web
applications (Apache or Tomcat)

•        Experience with Cisco UCS platform

•        Experience with LDAP and Site Minder

•        Experience with Linux or Unix system security hardening

•        Experience with one or more of the following : C, UNIX shell
scripting, Perl, Python, Powershell or similar languages

•        Working knowledge of TCP/IP



*Desired/Preferred Qualifications*

•        Familiar with Disaster Recovery

•        vCenter Operations Manager and SRM including installation,
maintenance, upgrade, configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting
and resolving operating system issues and management including system
backup and restore.

•        Familiar with DNS fundamentals, HTTP, MTA, BIND, network
fundamentals, including diagnostics with UNIX tools

•        Familiar with storage (EMC, NetApp)

•        Familiar with backup application (NetBackup)

•        Familiar with firewall

•        Familiar with load balancer (F5 Big-IP)

•        Familiar with BMC Patrol.

•        Previous experience as HP-UX administrator

•        Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of training
users in applications

•        Must be self-motivated and able to work effectively both alone and
as part of a team

•        Have a strong sense of ownership, ability to work flexible hours,
weekends and on call.

•        Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to
handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

*Unix linux system Administrator with VMware – *



This position requires a strong knowledge of the Windows environment with
effective problem solving and communication skills.  Successful candidate
will possess the skills to build servers in both physical and virtual
environments, configure the operating system, and deploy applications
servers with minimal guidance. Must have proven ability to maintain focus
on task and deliver within schedule.



*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:*



·         Enables the technical delivery of a set of projects

·         Responsible for ensuring that infrastructure solutions adhere to
technical standards

·         Works with Infrastructure Engineers, Lead Project Managers,
Business Analysts, Architects and/or vendor partners

·         Responsible for the quality of deliverables in terms of the
technical design, implementation, testing and adherence to technical
compliance standards.

·         Provides on-call support

·         Works closely with application teams to define, frame and capture
business needs

·         Researches appropriate technology and product offerings

·         Aligns customer needs to the evolution of the platform product
roadmap

·         Oversees the diagnosis and correction of infrastructure problems

·         Provides internal analysis and support to ensure proper
escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance

·         Oversees health and well-being of the technical infrastructure

·         Ensures that all new applications are documented in the
documentation repository

·         Manages turnover of new applications to 24 X 7 support team

·         Supports the certification and accreditation of infrastructure on
customer networks

·         Provides value-added solutions for business, both tactically and
strategically

·         Leads customers to understand how current or envisioned processes
align to industry best practices

·         Defines processes, documentation and engineering diagrams for
technical and operations support

·         Prioritizes, completes and oversees projects within budgetary and
scheduling guidelines

·         Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved
in a timely manner

·         Provides 24 X 7 escalation support
