We are looking for Data Scientist in Redmond, WA. Title : Data Scientist Location : Redmond, WA Duration : 9+ Months Job Responsibilities include: Understand and be up to date on available data sources and business intelligence solutions. Be an expert on data quality issues and data quality assurance. Develop code to scale statistical models within a MapReduce framework containing some of the largest datasets in the world. Generate actionable insights to re-establish MSND as viral developer community. Work with engineering team to drive action and impact. Provide the business senior leadership with the user behavioral related insights they need to make decisions. Skill Sets: High competency with web analytics tools required, experience with unstructured data and/or streams preferred. Experience with any big data platform like Hadoop, or Cosmos is required. Experience writing custom MapReduce code (reducers, combiners etc.) strongly preferred. Some programming skills and experience required (C#, Java, Python or similar). Expertise with statistical modeling with R, Matlab, Octave, Python or similar strongly preferred. Great communications skills, both verbal and written - especially as it pertains to communicating complicated technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Hands-on approach to data analysis and a strong focus on quality. Ability to juggle multiple projects with high level of ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team environment. Qualifications: A Master degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field (or the equivalent combination of education and experience). Extensive knowledge and experience in at least three of the following areas: statistical modeling, data analysis, machine learning, MapReduce.
