The Senior Cloud Database Administrator position is responsible for the
deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of production database systems
running within the companys infrastructure. The successful applicant will
work within the infrastructure team and with external support groups during
all phases of the deployment and maintenance of the database system
environments. This is a hands-on IT infrastructure position in a dynamic
and fast paced environment.
* Responsibilities*
Design, deploy, and maintain database system environments
within the *PROS* Cloud infrastructure
Research, design, implement, and maintain cloud automation and
orchestration systems
Support and maintain various server database environments
Monitor the operation of the database systems and remediate
any issues
Generate periodic reports of system availability and
performance to management and external teams
Identify and work with other groups to coordinate application
interdependencies and resolve issues
Evaluate, recommend, and implement strategies for growth and
scalability
Provide ongoing support, maintenance and training on the
implemented systems
Provides leadership to identify, manage risks and resolve
issues in a team environment
Work independently with little supervision on day to day
tasks, receiving general instructions on new assignments
Maintain backups of database and perform restores as needed
Work closely with application performance and sizing teams to
improve products
Utilize best practices to securely setup and configure
database systems
Patch and upgrade systems
Commitment to quality customer service
Support servers in a 24x7 data center
Participate in 24x7 on-call support
Other duties as assigned
*Qualifications*
3+ years of experience in an enterprise IT environment
Experience with designing, deploying, administering, and
monitoring some of the following systems:
o Windows SQL Server 2008/2012
o Oracle 11+
o Oracle Data Guard
o Windows Server 2012
*o Red Hat Linux*
o High-availability and clustering
Disaster Recovery process and environment experience
Develop and follow security best practices in a Cloud
environment
Understanding SLAs to support Cloud Infrastructure
Excellent time management, organizational skills, crisis
management and problem-solving skills
