Job title Programmer Analyst Duration 5 months State: Columbus,Ohio ( NEED LOCALS ) Exp 6-8+ yrs Description: *Position Description:* The role is responsible for formulating and defining system scope and objectives for Distribution and Logistics team as part of larger supply chain applications group. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering equipment capacity, limitations, operating time and desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs are written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs. Competent to work on highest technical level of all phases of applications systems and programming activities. Application / Modules: Thorough knowledge of: • IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (Administration & Development) • X12 EDI development *Responsibilities:* This resource will be accountable for the following activities: • Participate in meetings with users to determine requirements and scope • Assist in creation of functional design deliverables • Assist in completion of detailed technical design deliverables • Facilitate and actively participate in technology activities as they relate to the Application, Server Management and Operations groups • Review detailed technology design deliverables • Participate in on-call support activities • Identify and assist in correcting application software problems • May test, document and implement application enhancements and code fixes • Monitor and assist in resolution of system performance issues • Assist end users in resolving and identifying system issues by providing application knowledge and technical expertise • Assist users through creation and execution of test plan • Participate and assist in system user training • Participate in generation of user documentation *Skill Level (including soft skill requirements)* • Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year university or college; or equivalent combination of coursework and job experience • 2 plus years of information technology experience; participation in projects is desirable. • 3 - 5 years of system analysis, programming experience and / or functional area knowledge. • Production support experience in information systems with comparable systems • Strong communication skills • Working knowledge of PCs including software and hardware • Technical knowledge of RPG or comparable 4th generation language or experience with web-based, object-oriented programming languages like Java and C++ • Proven knowledge of X12 EDI standards • Proven knowledge of XML • Experience with IBM Sterling Integrator, administration and development, required • Experience with Linux/Unix + scripting required • Experience with Manhattan Supply Chain Solutions a plus • Experience with IBM Cognos a plus • Logistics experience a plus. After an initial interview (phone or in person), there will be at least one panel interview for each candidate selected. Therefore, face-to-face interviews are highly desired.
