*Job Description:*
Design/architect the next generation* consolidated storage and backup* solution
working closely with various architects and engineers.
Storage/backup architect will be responsible for the design and architecture
of the next gen* storage and backup solution for a new data center*.
Responsibilities include: to assess the current storage, back up and
recovery architecture, processes, inventory with the purpose to identify
inefficiencies, gaps and issues; to drive the analysis and documentation of
technical requirements; lead the design in collaboration with infrastructure
architects, storage, backup and system administrators; provide cost/benefit
for proposed solutions.
· The storage architect will provide solution presentations to
Executives and staff.
· Provide design process and approach for storage and backup designs
· Provide capacity management/planning approach and capacity plans
· Provide storage/backup technical designs
*Must have proven experience (+8 years as storage architect) in the
following:*
· Assess, plan and design storage consolidation for existing storage
infrastructure
· Design and implementation of various SAN and NAS solutions
· Design of IP SAN solutions for heterogeneous operating systems
· Create capacity planning processes and procedures for a SAN solution
· Design and implement backup and recovery strategies
· Conduct hands on training, present brown bags and mentor data
management staff related to storage architecture and best practices
· Hands on with industry leader Storage and back up technologies.
· Multi-vendor and multi-organization storage architectural design
experience
· Advanced understanding of storage & backup architecture
· Storage consolidation and virtualization
· SAN virtualization
· Backup to disk, virtual disk, tape and virtual tape
· EMC, HP, IBM storage solutions
· Networker Legato and other backup solutions
· SUN StorageTek tape library
· Deduplication
· Cisco SAN
· SNIA certified
*General*
· Proven excellent documentation and presentation skills
· Proven excellent facilitation skills
· Proven discovery and analysis skills
· Good time management and status reporting
· Practice SNIA architecture disciplines
