Position: Product Manager

Location: San Jose, CA

Duration: 6+ months

 




The product manager will be responsible for managing the products 
throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and 
customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely 
with engineering, to deliver winning products. He will work with Sales, 
Marketing Finance, Operations and Services Teams to ensure revenue and 
customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also 
includes ensuring that the product internal positioning and marketing 
efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.

 The Product Manager is expected to:
 - Define the product strategy and roadmap
 - Deliver BRDs and MRDs with prioritized features and corresponding 
business justification
 - Work with external third parties to assess partnerships opportunities
 - Be an expert with respect to the competition
 - Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
 - Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
 - Deliver an annual bookings forecast
 - Develop sales tools and collateral content
 - Propose an overall budget to ensure success
 - Brief Executive Leadership and Key Stakeholders
 - Act as a leader within the company
 - Champion ideas for new services among peer groups
 - Guide new services through Cisco NPI (new product introduction) process

 Required Skills & Experience:
 - At least 10+ years of experience as a Product Management or Product 
Marketing Manager in a technology, networking or video communications 
industry
 - Understanding of Service Provider market segment and ideally the Service 
Provider Video market
 - Experience working with Service Providers, preferrably in the area of 
services

- Familiarity with SP Video technology is a huge plus
 - Proven track record of driving the development and launch of measurably 
successful products and/or services
 - Strong analytical, technical, marketing, and financial acumen; 
experience managing P&L and forecasting
 - Strong leadership & communication skills – verbal, written, 
presentations, at all levels
 - Defining strategies, managing initiatives, developing value & business 
propositions and building business plans
 - Excellent teamwork skills, proven ability to influence cross-functional 
teams without formal authority
 - Requires BSEE/CS, Finance, Marketing, or equivalent plus 12+ years 
relevant experience
 - Advanced Degree / MBA preferred

-Prior Cisco experience a plus

 As we discussed earlier, the person filling this role needs to be a 
self-starter, able to understand SP Video architectures, technology and 
product offers at sufficient depth to be able to define and develop 
supportive technical service offers.
